Disorders of hair growth – alopecia
With the basic Check Up, an initial comprehensive assessment of our health is performed (mainly renal and hepatic function), to ensure that there is no systemic disease that may contribute to the poor quality of scalp hair.
Iron (Fe) and iron stores with ferritin (Ferr) are checked because in situations of iron deficiency, hair becomes thin, brittle, and falls out. σίδηρος (Fe), και τα αποθέματα του σιδήρου με την ferritin (Ferr),, γιατί σε καταστάσεις σιδηροπενίας τα μαλλιά λεπταίνουν, σπάνε, πέφτουν.
Vitamins such as folic acid (Folic acid), B12 (Vit. B12), Α (Vit. A),C (Vit. C) are checked to be at normal levels for hair health.
Zinc (Zn) is an independent factor in healthy hair construction.
LH (luteinizing hormone), FSH (follicle- stimulating hormone), Testosterone (Testo), E2 (oestradiol)are the basic hormones of the body with a direct effect on hair growth (hyper- and hypo-trichosis) in both men and women.
The measurement of fT4 (free thyroxine) and TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone)constitutes the basic examination of the thyroid, in order to rule out possible hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism that may affect hair quality.
Your results will be delivered with full explanation and evaluation, along with initial instructions if needed.
As preparation for morning blood collection and examination, the following are recommended:
- A meal must be consumed the previous evening.
– The last meal should be consumed up to 11-12 hours before blood sampling.
– The evening meal should contain fewer animal fats (if it includes cheeses, fatty dairy products, and meats).

– Collect the first morning urine.
– Wash the area thoroughly with plenty of water, without soap.
