Test PRS (Polygenic Risk Score) – Estimation of polygenic risk for common hereditary neoplasias

(Ογκολογικό panel – περιλαμβάνει κακοήθειες παχέος εντέρου, παγκρέατος, εγκεφάλου, νεφρών, προστάτη, ωοθηκών, μαστών, μελάνωμα) κόστος 150 €

The “Ygeia Florinas” Diagnostic Centre performs the assessment of the Polygenic Risk Score (PRS) for the most common forms of cancer: Breast, Ovarian, Prostate, Colorectal, Pancreatic, Renal, Brain, and Melanoma.PRS tests are molecular tests that identify hundreds of thousands to millions of genetic polymorphisms in DNA, which cumulatively significantly increase the risk for various malignancies and chronic diseases.

The examination is done with a simple blood draw, and within a few weeks, the examinee receives a detailed report with the results of their genetic test.

The results of the analysis of the examinee's DNA are processed through bioinformatics using specialized algorithms, resulting in a Polygenic Risk Score (PRS) for each disease. This score is compared to the average genetic risk of the general population, so that the examinee knows how much greater predisposition they have to develop the specific disease, compared to the population average. Specifically, regarding Breast Cancer, in addition to genetic risk, the overall probability of disease occurrence within the next 5 or 10 years is calculated, taking into account other risk factors such as age, smoking, Diabetes Mellitus, and obesity.
